public class accum
extends Logic

General Description

Accum takes in a generic-sized input, adds or subtracts it to the current contents of the accumulator, and outputs the result. It can be specified be signed, clearable, enabled, and with an adder/subtractor (default is just the adder), or any combination of the four. When clr is asserted, the input value goes directly to the output.
The output wire width must be at least as wide as the input wire width. If the result is too large to fit onto the output wire (overflow occurs), the result is simply truncated. All state changes occur on the rising edge.

 

Usage Examples:

The easiest way to instance the accum is by using static method calls in the OTHERS class. If desired, however, the constructor calls may be made explicitly, as shown below.

First, you must import the Logic.Modules package:
  import byucc.jhdl.Logic.Modules.*;

To instance an unsigned, clearable, enabled accum, the following constructor would be used:
  new accum(this, a, clr, null, en, false, q, "name");

To instance a signed addsub accum, the constructor would be:
  new accum(this, a, null, adsub, null, true, q, "name");
