public class Exponent

extends Logic

General Description

Generate the exponent of square-root.

Exponent takes in exponent and mantissa of the floating point radicand and also the start signal to indicate the start of iterative computation. It outputs the exponent of the square-root and also the least siginificant bit of unbiased exponent of radicand to indicate whether the mantissa of radiand need to be shifted or not.

Usage Examples:

First, you must import the Logic.Modules.FloatingPoint package:
import byucc.jhdl.Logic.Modules.FloatingPoint.*;

To instance a Exponent the following constructor would be used:
new Exponent(this, start, ein, fin, eout, lsb, instanceName);
